After gaining internet access in Baddeck, we realized that we might have a weather window tomorrow for our crossing of the Cabot Strait to Newfoundland. Since the next window appeared to be at least a week away we decided to jump on it. We got fuel, needed spare engine parts, and a refund of our wharf fee, and shoved off.
The wind was favorable so we sailed north up the Great Bras D'Or Channel to the open sea. As it turned out we were also lucky enough to have a favorable tidal current.
Swimming hard to stay in place:
We were not going to get into Ingonish Harbour (Cape Breton) until 23:00 so we decided the have dinner while the sun set.
So exciting to go so far north a toast to you both whats cooking by the way
