A fellow who should be nominated to be the ambassador of the Bay of Islands Yacht Club was so kind as to show us all around Corner Brook and also help us replenish our fuel supply.
Corner Brook, the second largest city in Newfoundland, appears to be thriving with signs of building and growth everywhere. However, it is said that it is also suffering just as most of towns of Newfoundland are, despite the fact that Canada's economy is only recently showing signs of weakness.

James Cook did a remarkable job of surveying and charting the coast of Newfoundland in the 1760s. In fact, many of the current Canadian charts are still based on 19th century charts.
The accentuated wind seems to always blow either up or down the "arms" regardless of the actual direction of the wind on the outside.
